When will my cannas bloom? Cannas typically begin blooming 90 days from the time they were planted. They will continue to bloom until the first frost.

What is the best fertilizer to use? While cannas do not require fertilizer to thrive, you can apply it to your cannas throughout the summer growing season. If you already have rose or tomato fertilizer, both work great for cannas. All-purpose fertilizers like 5-10-5 or 10-10-10 are also suitable for cannas.

I see insect damage on my leaves. How do I know if it is canna leafroller caterpillars? There are two types of canna leafroller caterpillars. Leafrollers create very unique damage to canna leaves. One will stitch together a new leaf so it cannot unfurl properly. This leafroller will stay inside the leaf tube and feed on the leaf. The second kind of leafroller will chew large portions of the leaf to create a flap. They will fold the flap and tack it to the leaf creating a pocket. This leafroller will stay inside the pocket and feed on the leaf. Click on our canna leafroller YouTube video below to learn more.
