Some customers describe the blooms of Crimson Beauty as red or scarlet, but others refer to it as pink. Regardless, you're going to get loads of curb appeal with Crimson Beauty in your flowerbeds. This variety has an average height of 4-5 feet. It looks great with cannas like Confetti and Musifolia. You can also plant it behind shorter plants like Red Hot Poker or Coneflowers. We also love it paired with Elephant Ears!
This week for #CannaTipTuesday: how to get bigger blooms and brighter foliage. You can start applying fertilizer once cannas have sprouted. We love sharing helpful tips with you through the growing season. Tips are posted weekly on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Weekly greenhouse update! The greenhouses are progressing beautifully! We are looking forward to shipping live plants beginning May 1st. In the meantime, most bulbs ship the same day if ordered by noon (CST), unless a different ship date is requested. We offer free shipping on orders over $100. Please place bulb and plant orders separately if they are shipping on different dates.
For more information on when to plant or choosing a ship date, take a look at the planting info on our website or our helpful YouTube video (skip to 2:37).
A great resource for determining current soil temperatures in your area is this interactive map. Enter your zip code and the map will show current soil temperature in your area as well as a 5-day average and historical trends.
For those in colder zones, your time will be here soon! It is better to wait and plant when soil temperatures are consistently 60 degrees or warmer to give your cannas the best start. If you are in the northern climates and want a head start on spring growth, you can begin planting indoors in containers. Starting cannas indoors is certainly not a requirement, but we know many gardeners in Zones 6 and colder like this option. On average, cannas will bloom 90 days after planting.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
