Musifolia is our #1 seller every single year! This giant height canna has been around since 1858 when Monsieur Année, the godfather of cannas, first introduced it in Peru. Our favorite qualities about Musifolia are its impressive ability to achieve great height during the growing season and its incomparable foliage, similar to a banana plant. This variety has a small late-season red bloom. Musifolia is gorgeous by the pool for a tropical paradise, a magnificent backdrop behind shorter green-foliage cannas like
Crimson Beauty and
Fire Dragon, or as a live privacy fence. Plus, it is 20% off for 1 week only! The sale ends March 9th at midnight CST.
Our #CannaTipTuesday series is back! We love sharing helpful tips with you through the growing season. Since it is still too cold for most to plant cannas outdoors, this is great if you are already yearning to play in the dirt. While you certainly do not have to start cannas early indoors, the perk of doing so is earlier season blooms since it takes about 90 days from planting for cannas to first bloom. Tips are posted weekly on our
facebook and
instagram pages.
Now is a great time to plant cannas in zone 9 areas, such as: Arizona, Southern California, Florida, Southern Texas
Up next will be zone 8 gardeners who can usually start planting cannas in mid-March: Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, San Francisco, CA, Chattanooga, TN, Dallas, TX, Salem, OR, Carlsbad, NM
Last chance for our Cannova® plant sale! All Cannova® plants are 20% off until March 2nd at midnight CST.
I walked outside this morning and was thrilled to see the first few sprouts of my spring flowers poking through the soil. It is a reminder that it is time to start clearing leaves out of the flower bed and doing the dreaded sprinkler head maintenance. I can't even complain because I'm so excited to be back outside with dirt under my fingernails, in my floppy sun hat, surrounded by my favorite plant companions.
Whether it is your first or fiftieth year planting cannas, we are thankful to be part of your gardening in 2025!
