Canna Spotlight: Yellow King Humbert, a vintage variety that has been a favorite for nearly 100 years. Its showy bi-color blooms are buttery-yellow with splashes of orange. This canna is medium height, reaching 4-5 feet tall. We think it pairs well with Musifolia or Bronze Peach for a color contrast, Berry Pink for a tropical splash of color, or planted in front of Grande Red Stripe for an impressive canna display. This canna classic is sometimes listed under the name of Florence Vaughan, with some European growers listing it under the name of Richard Wallace.
Our #CannaTipTuesday series continues! We love sharing helpful tips with you through the growing season. This week's tip provides information on when to plant your cannas outside. Tips are posted weekly on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Now is a great time to plant cannas in zone 9 areas, such as: Arizona, Southern California, Florida, Southern Texas
Adding to these climates, zone 8 gardeners can start planting cannas now: Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, San Francisco, CA, Chattanooga, TN, Dallas, TX, Salem, OR, Carlsbad, NM
Bulbs ship daily, and plants will ship the first week of May! We have tiny little plants growing in the greenhouses! These will mature rapidly over the next 6 weeks. They will be ready for your gardens once they are about 12 inches tall. Until then, bulb orders will continue to ship daily!
