It is bittersweet to chop down the canna field every October. We love moving on to another season, but it is sad to see the colorful canna blooms disappear as we transition to the famous Oklahoma red dirt.
We started the annual canna harvest this week, arguably the dirtiest time of year on the farm. It's like after going to the beach, taking four showers, and not understanding how there is still sand on you.. but with dirt. We are thankful for our team for their fantastic attitudes and willingness to get a little dirty during the harvest process. To learn more about canna harvest here on the farm, tune into our harvest YouTube video for a more in-depth look.
Have you thought about winter care for your cannas? It's time! We have several resources containing everything you 'canna' do to prepare for overwintering. They include both of our Youtube videos, one hosted by Madison and the other hosted by Nikki, in addition to our blog post.
With all hands are on deck during our harvest season, Dustin and Nikki will be in the office less often for the next month. We will do our best to respond to emails and phone calls in a timely fashion, but it may not be as quick as usual. Thank you for being patient with us during this time.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
